Another pulsating round of Ligue 1 matches has come to an end, with plenty of talking points and exciting action. Paris Saint-Germain<\/a> maintained their seven-point lead, Monaco thrashed Lille and there were wins for Marseille, Montpellier, Nice, Angers, Rennes and Strasbourg.<\/p>\n

Ligue 1 Predictions: Monaco Put Five past Lille<\/h2>\n

Monaco ended 2019 in style as they thrashed Lille 5-1 to extend their winning run at home to six games. A very bad night for Lille whose excellent run comes to an end.<\/p>\n

It started excellently for the visitors when Victor Osimhen<\/a> gave them the lead. However, two goals in six minutes completely changed the game. Gelson Martins<\/a> and Keita Balde<\/a> put Monaco in front. Talisman Wissam Ben Yedder<\/a> added a second-half brace before Kamil Glik<\/a> added gloss in stoppage time. A fantastic night and the pressure eases on Leonardo Jardim. Lille haven\u2019t won a league game in Monaco this decade.<\/p>\n

Monaco\u2019s resounding win lifts them into the top seven. Lille drop to fourth.<\/p>\n

Montpellier Back on Track After Thrashing Brest<\/h2>\n

Michel Der Zakarian\u2019s Montpellier got their season back on track after thrashing Brest. A much-needed win for Montpellier whose form had dipped to one win in five games. Brest\u2019s patchy form continues winning just once in six.<\/p>\n

Gaetan Laborde<\/a> scored a brace of goals. Taji Savanier converted a penalty and Florent Mollet<\/a> crowned off the scoring to ensure a big win for Montpellier. Brest will be disappointed but overall, they will be very satisfied with their first half of the season.<\/p>\n

Montpellier climb into the top half. Brest remain 15th<\/sup> but are comfortably clear of the relegation zone.<\/p>\n
