Arsenal<\/a> have given an injury update ahead of the match against West Ham United<\/a> on Monday. Freddie Ljungberg<\/a> has also given his pre-match thoughts in the build up to the crucial fixture. Arsenal haven’t won in nine matches and the interim head coach thinks he has a way to stop the rot.<\/p>\n

Arsenal Injury Update and Manager’s Pre-Match Words<\/h2>\n

Dani Ceballos<\/a> has been out injured since being substituted off against Vitoria Guimaraes in the Europa League on 6 November. The Spaniard is still dealing with left hamstring issues and the club expects him to return to training by mid-December.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Rob Holding<\/a> hasn’t featured since the 2-0 loss to Leicester City<\/a> on 9 November. After returning from a crucial ligament rupture, Holding picked up a bruise which has kept him sidelined. He is being assessed ahead of Monday’s match.<\/p>\n

Freddie Ljungberg’s Press Conference<\/h3>\n

Ljungberg lost one and drew one of his two games as interim head coach so far. The match away to West Ham presents a difficult challenge which will make a turn in fortunes difficult for Arsenal.<\/p>\n

The Swede has a plan to control the game better in his third game as interim boss. Freddie Ljungberg told the media ahead of the match<\/a>: “If you score the first goal you don’t have to chase the game. You don’t have to open up as much because you can control the game so that’s something that, in my opinion, we need to change a little bit.<\/p>\n

“We started really well at Norwich. We started the second half really well [against Brighton] and I was sure we were going to win the game and get going again. We get a sucker punch on a counter or as they play down one side. It’s hard to take but we keep plugging away.”<\/p>\n
