Carlo Ancelotti and Mauricio Pochettino are both in the frame for the Everton<\/a> job, according to Paul Joyce of The Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ancelotti currently sits seventh in Serie A with Napoli but there is no doubting the Italian’s elite status in management. Similarly, Pochettino can claim a place in that group of top tier managers despite recently losing his job at Tottenham Hostpur<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Carlo Ancelotti and Mauricio Pochettino Linked to Everton Job<\/h2>\n

Chasing the Stars<\/h3>\n

These two names are big names. Ancelotti has previously managed AC Milan<\/a>, Chelsea<\/a>, Paris Saint-Germain<\/a> and Bayern Munich<\/a>. A move to Everton would represent a considerable downgrade when one considers the elite level of those five aforementioned teams. On the flip side, the Toffees would be making a huge statement if they managed to land someone of his managerial pedigree.<\/p>\n

Pochettino would have been an easier target before his Spurs stint. Whether he would want to start again at a smaller club remains to be seen. Although, it would give him the chance to be the focal point of an ambitious project.<\/p>\n

Kean to Get More<\/h3>\n

Moise Kean<\/a> was the big-money buy<\/a> from Juventus<\/a> in the summer but it hadn’t been easy for the young Italian under Marco Silva. The Portuguese manager had been left unconvinced by Kean and often opted for Dominic Calvert-Lewin<\/a> or Cenk Tosun<\/a>. The aim for whoever takes over will be to unlock the potential of Kean. There is the real possibility that he could take off on Merseyside but he will need a manager who believes in his abilities. Pochettino certainly knows a thing or two about developing youngsters.<\/p>\n

Defensive Discipline<\/h3>\n

Marco Silva’s Everton reign ended with a disappointing 5-2 defeat<\/a> to bitter rivals Liverpool<\/a>. The defence were all over the place as Jurgen Klopp’s rotated team ran riot. A managerial successor would need to instil discipline and a steeliness to the setup. Ancelotti’s know-how could be important here but the call for defensive structure is one that could well be answered by David Moyes<\/a>.<\/p>\n
