Chelsea<\/a> have seen their transfer ban reduced by the Court of Arbitration for Sport. It comes after an appeal to the body, and as a result, they will now be free to sign players again in January.<\/p>\n

As a result of the reduction of the transfer ban, it means that Frank Lampard can make new additions to his Chelsea squad.<\/p>\n

The Blues were under a two-window transfer ban after they were found to be breaching FIFA rules surrounding signing young players. FIFA found<\/a> that Chelsea had broken their rules in 69 cases of signing academy players.<\/p>\n

However, now Chelsea have been cleared to sign players in January after a successful appeal to the Court of Arbitration for sport.<\/p>\n

Will Frank Lampard Make New Additions After Transfer Ban Is Cleared For Chelsea?<\/h3>\n

Chelsea have been linked with a number of players, despite not knowing whether their transfer ban will be reduced.<\/p>\n

One of those players is Crystal Palace<\/a> winger Wilfried Zaha<\/a>. According to Tom Kershaw of the Independent<\/a>, Chelsea have made contact about doing a deal for the 27-year-old. Zaha has seen an up-turn in form recent games, scoring two in the Eagles’ last three games.<\/p>\n

Another player linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is Leicester City<\/a> left-back Ben Chilwell<\/a>. According to the Metro<\/a>, the England international is Chelsea’s number one target. Frank Lampard is yet to settle on a preferred choice at left-back, with both Emerson<\/a> and Marcos Alonso<\/a> being alternated. As a result, Lampard is looking to settle on a preferred choice.<\/p>\n

However, Frank Lampard’s trust in Chelsea’s younger players may call for a re-think<\/a> into whether they are desperate to sign players. Both Tammy Abraham<\/a> and Mason Mount<\/a> have succeeded in the light of the transfer ban, and it is something that Lampard will want to continue.<\/p>\n
