Spurs have struggled both domestically and in Europe. Spurs will now look to replace Pochettino.

Mauricio Pochettino Sacked: Spurs Could Turn to Julian Naglesmann

Crisis Talks Between Levy and Pochettino Prior to Sacking

Mauricio Pochettino has held talks with Tottenham about his future at the club. Various outlets including Matt Law of the Independent and Sky Sports reported crisis talks between both parties. Tottenham players on international duty have discussed the manager’s future with many already braced for a change in the dugout.

Both Matt Law and Sky Sports report that chairman Daniel Levy will have to pay out £12.5 million to dismiss Pochettino from his post. The Argentine hinted several times last season he could quit his role at Spurs but remained at the club and Sky Sports then noted Pochettino was unlikely to resign due to the compensation he could get.

Currently, there aren’t any clear candidates to take over on a caretaker basis.

Tottenham Considering RB Leipzig’s Julian Naglesmann As Potential Pochettino Replacement

Now that Spurs and Pochettino have parted ways, Tottenham will consider RB Leipzig’s Julian Naglesmann as a potential replacement. According to Gary Jacob of The Times, Spurs have been tracking Naglesmann following his terrific success at Hoffenheim. As well as, his tremendous start at RB Leipzig.

32-year-old Naglesmann only took over RB Leipzig in June following a tremendous spell at Hoffenheim. He guided them to successive top 4 finishes and Champions League football. Daniel Levy regularly keeps an eye on young managers when searching for Tottenham’s next manager.

Gary Jacob goes on to say Spurs face stiff competition for Naglesmann with Manchester United also tracking the highly regarded German. Naglesmann’s contract runs until 2023 so Spurs will have to pay hefty compensation to RB Leipzig should they pursue him.

Main Photo

Embed from Getty Images

Tottenham Hotspur have sacked Mauricio Pochettino and are looking for a replacement, who they could find in Julian Naglesmann.

[29,4,2,30,3,24
4063,51,1014,258,620,96,136
post-536901","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-editorials","category-bundesliga","category-featured","category-news","category-premier-league","category-tottenham","tag-2019-20-premier-league","tag-bundesliga","tag-julian-nagelsmann","tag-mauricio-pochettino","tag-rb-leipzig","tag-tottenham-hotspur","tag-world-football
["GET
