AS Roma’s coach Paulo Fonseca<\/a> is facing a crippling injury crisis, with a total of eight injured players and three unavailable due to suspension. The latest recruit to the sickbay is defender Davide Santon<\/a>, who came down with the flu. The growing number of injuries has led Roma to scour the world for free agents. As the desperation for players grows, Jack Rodwell<\/a> has found himself the subject of transfer speculation. According to Fabrizio Romano<\/a>, he will take a medical tomorrow. And, he will be subject to a deal until 2020.<\/p>\n

Roma’s Injury Crisis Has Lined up a Shock Move for Jack Rodwell<\/h2>\n

Jack Rodwell, 28, looks to benefit from the injury crisis. The former England midfielder has been a free agent since leaving Blackburn Rovers in 2019. Will Versatility Be Key in the Deal<\/h3>\n

Most recently, Rodwell played both as a centre back and centre midfield for Blackburn. Although impressing in both positions, consistency seems to be something of an issue. After keeping three clean sheets, and winning all three games, whilst playing at centre back. Rodwell seems to struggle to keep this momentum going. As the old idiom goes, ‘beggars can’t be choosers’. Therefore, with Roma being desperate for players, Jack Rodwell’s ability to cover more than one position may prove key.<\/p>\n

Makeshift Squad Against Borussia M\u00f6nchengladbach<\/h3>\n

Roma are set to play Borussia M\u00f6nchengladbach tonight in the Europa League group stages. With such a depleted squad Paulo Fonseca may have to roll the dice on the fitness of the players. Fonseca may play Edin Dzeko<\/a> but this comes at a risk. Dzeko has been recovering after undergoing surgery on fractured cheekbones. Unlikely as it is that Fonseca pulls off a mastermind against M\u00f6nchengladbach. Roma then have just three days rest until a crucial league game against AC Milan.<\/p>\n
