It provides Hodgson with a selection headache, as James McCarthy<\/a> impressed in his place during the 2-1 win over West Ham<\/a>. However, the club captain is likely to be preferred in place of the summer arrival.<\/p>\n

That could prove to be the only change, as Hodgson looks to prevent an unsettled squad. If fit, Mamadou Sakho<\/a> could return next to Gary Cahill<\/a> at the heart of defence, but Martin Kelly has impressed in place of the Frenchman.<\/p>\n

Both Kevin de Bruyne<\/a> and John Stones<\/a> are back in training for Manchester City. However, the former is more likely to play any part at Selhurst Park.<\/p>\n

Joao Cancelo<\/a> could move from left-back to right-back to replace the faltering Kyle Walker<\/a>. Similarly, Bernardo Silva<\/a> could replace Riyad Mahrez<\/a> in midfield.<\/p>\n

Roy Hodgson is a mastermind when it comes to games against the top six. His Palace side often set up in a defensive fashion, aiming to frustrate their opposition.
