Sunderland have announced former Bolton Wanderers boss Phil Parkinson as the Black Cats’ new manager at the Stadium of Light.<\/p>\n
Former Bolton Wanderers<\/a> manager Phil Parkinson has been appointed the new manager of Sunderland on an 18-month deal.<\/p>\n The Black Cats have been without a boss since owner Stewart Donald sacked\u00a0Jack Ross<\/a> last week.<\/p>\n A number of names had been linked to the vacant position; however, after a meeting between Parkinson and Donald, Sunderland had their man.<\/p>\n Parkinson was unveiled in a press conference on Thursday after meeting the players and current staff<\/a> at the Academy of Light. He will now plan for a difficult trip to Wycombe Wanderers this Saturday.<\/p>\n Stewart Donald wanted a manager with League One experience.
