Leaders Liverpool narrowly beat Sheffield United, while Wolverhampton Wanderers picked up their first win of the season. We have it all covered, our Premier League review of Matchweek seven.

Premier League Review: Matchweek Seven

Leicester City Show Their Class Against Newcastle United

Leicester City showed why they are genuine contenders to break the mould of the top six as they beat Newcastle United by five goals to nil.

Ricardo Pereira opened the scoring in the 16th minute. The right-back rounded off his run from the halfway line with a superb strike into the bottom corner.

The game then swung further into Leicester’s favour, as Isaac Hayden saw red for Newcastle just before half-time.

Three goals in ten minutes then sealed the game for the Foxes. Jamie Vardy made it 2-0, as he took advantage of sloppy defending from the visitors, before hammering home at the near post. It was the first of two for Vardy, as he was responsible for the fourth Leicester goal. Newcastle, once more, came unstuck in defence and as a result, Vardy was unmarked and headed past the helpless Martin Dubravka.

Newcastle were wounded, however, Leicester rounded off the victory by adding a fifth in injury time via Wilfred Ndidi.

Chelsea Grab First Home Win of the Season

Frank Lampard finally has his first win at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea manager. He watched his side put in a dominant performance, as they beat Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0.

Chelsea had to be patient for the opening goal, as the visitors were resilient in defence. However, their goal eventually came as they were awarded a penalty in the 50th minute, which Jorginho then slotted home.

As a result, it lead to Brighton opening up as they rallied for an equaliser. However, Chelsea then grabbed a second in the 76th minute, as Willian beat Mathew Ryan at his near post.

The result means that Chelsea move up to sixth in the table, while Brighton are now without a win since the opening day of the season.

How Did We Do?

Each week we take a crack at predicting the results of each fixture.
