Liverpool<\/a> showed their class as they overcame Chelsea <\/a>to win at Stamford Bridge. Goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/a> and Roberto Firmino<\/a> were enough to seal the three points for the Reds.<\/p>\n

Liverpool Showed Class To Narrowly Beat Chelsea<\/h2>\n

First Half<\/h3>\n

After a tight opening ten minutes, Liverpool scored with the first effort of the game. A clever free-kick laid off by Mohammed Salah<\/a> created a clearer sight at goal for Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/a>, who fired his strike into the top-right corner.<\/p>\n

Chelsea should have found themselves level in the 23rd minute. Tammy Abraham<\/a> found himself one-on-one with Adrian<\/a>, but could only fire straight at the Liverpool goalkeeper.<\/p>\n

The home side then thought they had made it 1-1 three minutes later. Cesar Azplicueta’<\/a>s tap-in was ruled out by VAR, as Mason Mount<\/a> was found to be offside during the buildup.<\/p>\n

In action packed six minutes, the visitors made it 2-0. Yet another clever free-kick routine found Roberto Firmino unmarked in the box to head past Kepa Arrizabalaga<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Chelsea limped towards half-time, trying to minimise the goal deficit. However, they could have clawed one back just before, as Tammy Abraham’s header went just wide of the post.<\/p>\n

Second Half<\/h3>\n

The visitors started the brighter and if it was not for Kepa Arrizabalaga, the game would have been out of sight for Chelsea. A cross from Alexander-Arnold found Roberto Firmino unmarked at the back post, who forced Arrizabalaga into making a superb save.<\/p>\n

Chelsea then ran close just before the 60-minute mark. The ball fell to the returning N’Golo Kante<\/a> on the edge of the box, who then fired just wide of the post.<\/p>\n

N’Golo Kante then did find the back of the net. He drew one back as the Liverpool defence stood off him before he fired his attempt into the top corner.<\/p>\n

Chelsea then kicked into life in their quest for an equaliser. They could have drawn level in the 87th minute, as Michy Batshuayi<\/a> found himself in empty space in the box. However, his header could not find the target.<\/p>\n
