As a result, he will remain with the club until 2024.<\/p>\n<h2>Victor Lindelof Signs New Contract<\/h2>\n<h3>What Was Said<\/h3>\n<p>Speaking to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.manutd.com\/en\/news\/detail\/victor-lindelof-signs-new-contract-with-manchester-united\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">official website<\/a>, the Swedish defender said: &#8220;Since the day I arrived at United it has felt like home.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have grown significantly both as a player and as a person in the last two years and for that I am grateful to everyone at the club for their support.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I love playing football and my aim now is to help the team win trophies and repay the fans for their unrivalled support.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, also added: &#8220;Victor has established himself here and has become a very important part of our team.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He brings calmness on the pitch and I can see that he is determined to help this club and to be successful here.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m extremely happy that he has committed his future to Manchester United. We&#8217;re all looking forward to working together to deliver the success and get United back to where we know the club belongs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Victor Lindelof &#8211; Manchester United Career So Far<\/h3>\n<p>Lindelof arrived at Old Trafford in the summer of 2017, initially signing a four-year contract. During his first season with the club he made 22 appearances in all competitions.<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old began to establish himself into the first team in the 2018\/19 season. Last season he made 37 appearances in all competitions. Furthermore, he registered his first goal for United midway through the season, during a 2-2 draw with <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonfootball.com\/clubs\/burnley\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Burnley<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The new contract offers the chance for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to develop a partnership between Lindelof and summer signing <a href=\"https:\/\/fbref.com\/en\/players\/d8931174\/Harry-Maguire\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Harry Maguire<\/a>. The pair have featured in every minute United have played so far this season.
