Transfer deadline deals can happen in the blink of an eye, and that is exactly what is happening at Paris Saint-Germain<\/a> today.\u00a0 The French giants are signing Keylor Navas<\/a> from Real Madrid<\/a> and Mauro Icardi<\/a> from Inter Milan, according to Fabrizio Romano<\/a>.\u00a0 However, it is the deals that PSG got that make these such outstanding signings.<\/p>\n

Paris Saint-Germain Complete Double Signing<\/h2>\n

Keylor Navas<\/h3>\n

Let’s start with Keylor Navas because this has been in the works for a few weeks.\u00a0 Obviously, Navas has been looking to leave Real Madrid.\u00a0 The Costa Rican international wants to play, and Paris Saint-Germain is a great place to do that.\u00a0 The reported price tag<\/a> of \u20ac15 million plus a year-long loan of Alphonse Areola<\/a> makes this a great deal.<\/p>\n

That’s right, as part of the deal, the current PSG keeper will move to Madrid to be Thibault Courtois’s backup for the upcoming season.\u00a0 After that, he will return to Paris, where they can decide what to do with him.<\/p>\n

Mauro Icardi<\/h3>\n

The bigger story, however, is Mauro Icardi.\u00a0 The exiled Inter Milan striker has previously refused every club that has tried to sign him this summer.\u00a0 His wife even said that he expects to stay in Milan this season.\u00a0 However, PSG, to their credit, saw an opportunity.<\/p>\n

They have agreed to a loan deal with an option to buy next summer.\u00a0 That option is reportedly<\/a> \u20ac70 million, though the number is not 100% clear yet.\u00a0 More importantly, it is an option to buy, rather than an obligation.\u00a0 If things go wrong or Icardi becomes a problem, they can let him go after the season.<\/p>\n

It gets more interesting if things go well.\u00a0 Icardi is still a world-class centre-forward, and a lethal finisher if provided chances.\u00a0 In that sense, he is a very similar player to Edinson Cavani<\/a>.\u00a0 He could be a ready-made replacement if Cavani leaves for Miami next summer as has been reported by Joel Soria of NBC Sports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Even still, Icardi joins an absolutely lethal attack in Paris.\u00a0 Cavani, Angel Di Maria<\/a>, Kylian Mbappe<\/a>, and surprisingly Neymar<\/a>.\u00a0 Fitting them on the pitch seems impossible, but with Icardi and Navas, PSG are going to be incredible to watch.<\/p>\n
