Gareth Southgate has named his England squad for the latest round of Euro 2020 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Kosovo. Notable inclusions include a first call-up for Tyrone Mings<\/a> and Aaron Wan-Bissaka<\/a> earning their first senior call-ups.<\/p>\n

Goalkeepers<\/h3>\n

Unsurprisingly, Jordan Pickford<\/a> has been named as one of the goalkeepers in Gareth Southgate’s selction. The 25-year-old is now firmly first choice since his 2018 World Cup heroics.<\/p>\n

Alongside Pickford, Southgate has chosen Tom Heaton<\/a> and Nick Pope<\/a> as his two other goalkeepers. Both have started the opening three games of the Premier League season for their retrospective clubs.<\/p>\n

Defenders<\/h3>\n

Nine defenders have been named in the 25-man squad. Manchester United<\/a> summer signings Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire<\/a> have both been selected. It is the first time that Wan-Bissaka has been selected, having continued his impressive form from last season with Crystal Palace<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old is one of three right-backs named. Vying for the right-back spot alongside him are Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/a> and Kieran Trippier.<\/a> The former was named in the last England squad for the 2019 UEFA Nations League.<\/p>\n

However, one notable exclusion is John Stones. According to Charlotte Duncker of the Manchester Evening News<\/a>, the 25-year-old has only just returned from injury.<\/p>\n

Midfielders<\/h3>\n

Gareth Southgate’s England squad includes seven midfielders. After an impressive start to the season, Mason Mount<\/a> has earned a return to the England senior squad. Mount has registered two goals in three games so far this season for Chelsea<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, James Maddison<\/a> has also earned a call-up to the senior side. Following on from his impressing last season, Maddison has begun this season with two assists in three games.<\/p>\n

Jesse Lingard<\/a>, Jordan Henderson<\/a>, Declan Rice<\/a> and Ross Barkley<\/a> have all maintained their place from the last England squad. Meanwhile, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain<\/a> returns to the senior side for the first time since returning from injury.<\/p>\n

Attackers<\/h4>\n

Gareth Southgate has opted for the same attackers in his England squad that saw the Three Lions finish third in the UEFA Nations League.<\/p>\n

Raheem Sterling<\/a> has started the season in exciting fashion. The 24-year-old has five goals in three games so far this season for Manchester City<\/a>, including a hat-trick on the opening day of the season.<\/p>\n

Joining Sterling are Harry Kane<\/a>, Marcus Rashford<\/a>, Jadon Sancho<\/a> and Callum Wilson<\/a> to round off the latest England squad.<\/p>\n
