Welcome back to Last Word On Football\u2019s League One review. This week, a young side were humbled for another consecutive match, play-off potentials Peterborough hit MK Dons for four and Wycombe produced a staggering comeback to win, all in the EFL League One.<\/p>\n
Southend’s winless start to the season continued with a 4-3 defeat at high-flying Wycombe Wanderers. Brandon Goodship<\/a> scored the visitors’ first goal of the season in the eleventh minute; Stephen Humphrys<\/a> added a second for the Essex side on the half-hour mark.<\/p>\n Mark Milligan<\/a> scored an own goal to put the hosts on the scoresheet but Humphrys found the net after half-time to restore Southend’s two-goal lead. The Chairboys did not falter though and, once Scott Kashket<\/a> added a second for the hosts, it was complete dominance by Gareth Ainsworth’s side.<\/p>\n Jack Grimmer<\/a> and Dominic Gape<\/a> both hit the woodwork before Anthony Stewart<\/a> levelled the tie in the 89th minute; Kashket popped up to continue Wycombe’s unbeaten start by netting in the second minute of stoppage time.<\/p>\n Ipswich Town produced a professional performance to ease to a comfortable victory over Bolton. If being in the middle of a protracted takeover, registering a record low attendance and being managerless was bad enough, the Trotters were told on Saturday they could face expulsion from the EFL.<\/p>\n James Norwood<\/a> got the rout underway with his third goal in as many games – finishing calmly from the penalty spot – before Gwion Edwards<\/a> added a second. Kayden Jackson<\/a> converted twice in four minutes to further Town’s lead before Norwood added his second, and Ipswich’s fifth, after 72 minutes.<\/p>\n Peterborough United and MK Dons shared yet another entertaining fixture as the Posh recorded back-to-back victories in the League. Marcus Maddison<\/a> struck an unstoppable shot into the top corner to open the scoring on 21 minutes.<\/p>\n Maddison turned provider seven minutes later with a pinpoint freekick which picked out Ivan Toney<\/a>.
