With the English transfer window closed, selling Eriksen would leave Spurs unable to sign a replacement until January 2020.<\/p>\n<h2>Late Bid From Real Madrid to Sign Christian Eriksen<\/h2>\n<h3>Christian Eriksen Still Refusing to Sign New Tottenham Contract<\/h3>\n<p>Christian Eriksen expressed his desire in the summer to &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/sport\/football\/transfers\/christian-eriksen-transfer-real-madrid-tottenham-hotspur-news-latest-a8944906.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">try something new<\/a>&#8220;:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel I am at a place in my career where I might want to try something new,\u201d <a class=\"body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/ekstrabladet.dk\/sport\/fodbold\/udenlandsk_fodbold\/engelsk_fodbold\/PremierLeague\/nu-taler-eriksen-om-fremtiden-jeg-vil-proeve-noget-nyt\/7661012\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-item-name=\"BL-8944906-https:\/\/ekstrabladet.dk\/sport\/fodbold\/udenlandsk_fodbold\/engelsk_fodbold\/PremierLeague\/nu-taler-eriksen-om-fremtiden-jeg-vil-proeve-noget-nyt\/7661012\" data-vars-event-id=\"c6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eriksen told Danish daily <em>Ekstra Bladet<\/em><\/a>. \u201cI have the deepest respect for everything that has happened at Tottenham. But I have also said that I would like to try something new.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eriksen is said to have been offered \u00a3200,000 a week to stay at Spurs but has been reluctant to put pen to paper. Eriksen is said to want to move to Real Madrid, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonfootball.com\/clubs\/juventus\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Juventus<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonfootball.com\/clubs\/barcelona\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Barcelona<\/a> although no bids are been received.<\/p>\n<h3>Madrid to Push Daniel Levy to the Limit<\/h3>\n<p>Real Madrid are said to be offering \u00a360 million as they feel Daniel Levy will not allow a player of his calibre to leave for free. If Eriksen is not sold before the European window closes the likelihood becomes greater that he will leave for free. Losing him for free would be a damaging sale to Tottenham and would damage Levy\u2019s reputation as a master negotiator.<\/p>\n<h3>To Sell or Not to Sell<\/h3>\n<p>\u00a360 million would be better than losing the player for nothing. Yet, selling a player instrumental in Tottenham\u2019s top-four progress is foolish at this stage. Who would replace him in January?
