After the full fixture list<\/a> ahead of the upcoming season was unveiled, a football supercomputer revealed the potential final standings.<\/p>\n The study by BT Sport was made by leading data analysts with the help of data from different football statistics. Fixture dates, derbies and past finishing positions were also taken into consideration. The supercomputer not only predicts the final position of every team but also top goal scorers, Champions League winners<\/a> and more.<\/p>\n According to the supercomputer, the main contenders for the title will be Manchester City and Liverpool once again<\/a>. City were victorious by a single point last season and they are now the predicted champions once more.<\/p>\n The computer also estimates that Chelsea<\/a> and Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> will be the other two teams playing in the Champions League, as Manchester United<\/a> and Arsenal<\/a> finish fifth and sixth.<\/p>\n On the flip side, Burnley<\/a>, Norwich City<\/a> and Sheffield United<\/a>\u00a0are expected to be relegated. The biggest surprises of the probable final league table are that Newcastle United<\/a> finish eighth\u00a0and Aston Villa<\/a> coming 16th.<\/p>\n Of course, these predictions can\u2019t be absolutely correct. To study how true these guesses are, we decided to compare last season\u2019s supercomputer prediction with the actual table.<\/p>\n Impressively, the supercomputer correctly predicted the 2018\/2019 eventual winners<\/a> and runners-up, as well as two of the three relegated teams. Brighton & Hove Albion narrowly escaped relegation<\/a>, two points in front of 18th-<\/sup>place Cardiff City<\/a>.<\/p>\n The machine was too optimistic for Fulham<\/a> as they finished nine places below their predicted tenth-place spot.
