Sheffield United<\/a> are set to continue their summer spending spree after agreeing a fee with Swansea City<\/a> for striker Oli McBurnie. Sky Sports<\/a> report that a \u00a317 million deal has been struck between the clubs. This fee could rise to \u00a320 million with add-ons and it would be the fourth time this summer that the Blades have broken their transfer record.<\/p>\n

Lavish Spending<\/h3>\n

It’s clear that Sheffield United are clear about their intentions this season, having already broken their transfer record numerous times this window. The first was with the signing of Luke Freeman<\/a> for around \u00a35 million. Callum Robinson<\/a> then followed for roughly \u00a38 million and then Bournemouth<\/a> striker Lys Mousset<\/a> broke the record again at \u00a310 million.<\/p>\n

With the additions of Phil Jagielka<\/a> on a free transfer, Ben Osborn from Nottingham Forest and Dean Henderson<\/a> on loan from Manchester United<\/a>, Chris Wilder is certainly putting a squad capable of survival together.<\/p>\n

What Can Oli McBurnie Bring?<\/h3>\n

McBurnie has experience of the Premier League having broken into the team during the 2017\/18 season, Swansea’s last in the top flight after a prolonged spell.<\/p>\n

He made substitute appearances in the first three games of that campaign before a loan move to Barnsley fell through in the summer. He returned to the Swans and made 12 more appearances, including starts against Liverpool<\/a> and Newcastle United<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The loan to Barnsley went through in January and he scored nine goals in 17 games for the Tykes before again returning to Swansea, this time as a Championship player. He became an integral part of the squad, even scoring in the opening day win against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.<\/p>\n

In total, he made 58 appearances for Swansea and scored 22 times.<\/p>\n
