Bournemouth<\/a> have completed their third signing of the summer with the signing of Philip Billing<\/a> from Huddersfield Town<\/a>. The 23-year-old has signed a long-term contract at the Vitality Stadium with the Cherries paying a reported \u00a315 million<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Philip Billing Signs For Bournemouth<\/h2>\n

Philip Billing was one of the few bright sparks as Huddersfield suffered a humiliating relegation back to the Championship. Last season he made 27 appearances, scoring twice.<\/p>\n

However, the Dane still impressed his defensive midfield role. During his 27 appearances last season, he made on average 2.7<\/a> tackles per game. Furthermore, he also completed two interceptions per game. As a result, he will prove a useful addition to Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth squad.<\/p>\n

How Will Philip Billing Fit in at Bournemouth?<\/h3>\n

Eddie Howe is already well-stocked with central midfielders at Bournemouth. However, Billing will provide exciting quality, meaning possible exits are expected.<\/p>\n

It is unlikely that the 23-year-old will move straight into the first team at the Vitality Stadium. Bournemouth finished the season with a midfield pairing of Dan Gosling<\/a> and club-record signing Jefferson Lerma<\/a>. However, highly-rated English midfielder Lewis Cook<\/a> is expected to return from injury. As a result, Billing may pay the price.<\/p>\n

Summer Transfer Policy a Sign of What to Expect<\/h3>\n

Billing is the third summer signing of the summer by Bournemouth, joining Lloyd Kelly<\/a> and Jack Stacey<\/a> on the south coast.<\/p>\n

All three signings are aged 23 and under with their best years of football ahead of them. It shows the direction that Eddie Howe may be taking with future transfer dealings.<\/p>\n

The previous two transfer windows have also seen young players arrive. January signings Dominic Solanke<\/a> and Chirs Mepham<\/a> are both 21 years old, while Jefferson Lerma and David Brooks<\/a> are both under the age of 25.<\/p>\n

It is a daring and risky policy by Eddie Howe. However, it could set The Cherries up for a positive future.<\/p>\n
