They embark on a new, and risky, journey under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season. However, Manchester United <\/a>should have opted for Mauricio Pochettino after the sacking of Jose Mourinho<\/a> instead of the Norwegian. The failure to appoint the Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> manager may haunt them for years to come.<\/p>\n

There is something very unique about Mauricio Pochettino and his time at Tottenham – he is one of the world’s best managers despite never winning a trophy.<\/p>\n

The Argentinian would have brought prestige back to Old Trafford. He is a different entity to previous manager Jose Mourinho and would have provided a fresh approach to the one applied by the man ten years Pochettino’s elder.<\/p>\n

The 47-year-old’s best achievement to date is carrying Tottenham to the 2018\/19 Champions League final. Spurs were the underdogs of the competition, they never gave up. Manchester United have looked like they have given up on several occasions since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson.<\/p>\n

The Future of Tottenham Is Mauricio Pochettino<\/h3>\n

The time for Manchester United to appoint Maurico Pochettino may have past. Following their Champions League success, there is the opportunity to continue to build a legacy on the white side of north London.<\/p>\n

Of course, he has already built something special with Tottenham. He has dragged Tottenham from the depths of Thursday night European football to consistent Champions League qualifiers. The squad is his own; just six players remain from the previous regime.<\/p>\n

However, Pochettino is constantly looking to improve his squad. Belgian midfielder Mousa Dembele<\/a> was moved on due to age and was replaced by club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele<\/a>. The strides taken to find a striker that will support Harry Kane<\/a> has reached new heights, with the club looking to sign Juventus<\/a> striker Paulo Dybala<\/a>, according to Duncan Wright of The Sun<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If he is given the backing by chairman Daniel Levy, Mauricio Pochettino can mould Tottenham into one of Europe’s best clubs.<\/p>\n

Would Mauricio Pochettino Ever Take the Manchester United Job?<\/h3>\n

It is impossible to know whether it would happen or not. However, if Mauricio Pochettino ever did take the Manchester United job, then he would be risking everything and leaving a lot behind.<\/p>\n

The project that would meet him at Manchester United is a mammoth task. Big salaries, big egos and big expectations are what would meet him at Old Trafford. It would be something that the Argentinian would not be used to, having developed a settled squad with Tottenham.<\/p>\n

The ship may have sailed for Manchester United to appoint Mauricio Pochettino, as it is only the beginning of his Tottenham future.<\/p>\n
