Real Madrid<\/a> are understood to have pulled out of a deal that would see Gareth Bale move to the Chinese Super League, according to BBC Sport’s David Ornstein. In a post on his Twitter<\/a> account, Ornstein said that the deal is off and that the Welshman would be staying with Los Blancos.<\/p>\n

The Deal<\/h3>\n

It was reported late last week that Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning<\/a> were closing in on a deal that would see Bale move to them from Madrid. The contract they were offering would have seen Bale’s wages reach \u00a31 million a week, increasing significantly from his already-high total of \u00a3600,000 a week in Spain.<\/p>\n

It was understood by Matt Law of The Telegraph<\/a> that Beijing Guaon were also interested in Bale, while reports had linked the Wales forward with moves in Europe to Liverpool<\/a>, Manchester United<\/a>, Tottenham Hotspur<\/a>, Paris Saint-Germain<\/a> and Bayern Munich<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Madrid Pull Out<\/h3>\n

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has made it clear that he wants Bale out of the club this summer. The pair have never quite seen eye-to-eye, despite Bale’s double in the 2018 Champions League final against Liverpool winning the title for Madrid, as well as regular good performances at domestic level.<\/p>\n

It appeared that Bale had somewhat answered his critics with a goal in the pre-season win over Arsenal<\/a>, but it later emerged that a deal to China was close regardless.<\/p>\n

Whether this is a sign that Madrid have realised what Bale can offer them this season is unclear. It’s also not yet known how much of a say Bale had in the cancellation of the deal, but there’s every chance he could have realised how much his stock would potentially fall by making the move.<\/p>\n
