Crystal Palace have confirmed the permanent signing<\/a> of Jordan Ayew<\/a> on a three-year contract. The Ghanian becomes their second signing of the summer, following the signing of goalkeeper Stephen Henderson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jordan Ayew Signs For Crystal Palace<\/h2>\n

Last Season<\/h3>\n

Ayew played a bit-part role last season for Crystal Palace. He made 25 appearances in all competitions, scoring just twice.<\/p>\n

Despite scoring just twice, he outscored fellow strikers Christian Benteke,<\/a> Alexander Sorloth<\/a> and Connor Wickham<\/a>. Only fellow loanee Michy Batshuayi<\/a> scored more than Jordan Ayew last season.<\/p>\n

How Will Jordan Ayew Fit in at Crystal Palace?<\/h3>\n

As a result of his arrival, Jordan Ayew at Crystal Palace would appear strange on the front of it. However, as a squad player it could prove to be a shrewd signing.<\/p>\n

Out of their current choice of strikers, Christian Benteke is likely to be the first choice. This is despite the Belgian scoring just four goals in the past two seasons at Selhurst Park.<\/p>\n

Roy Hodgson’s cohort of strikers also currently includes Connor Wickham and Alexander Sorloth. The former’s injury record has made him an unreliable quantity at Selhurst Park. Furthermore, the Norwegian Sorloth has fallen out of favour. He spent the second half of last season on loan.<\/p>\n

Still More to Come For Crystal Palace?<\/h2>\n

Ayew is the second through the door at Selhurst Park permanently this summer. However, the Eagles are still in need of further signings.<\/p>\n

A priority for Crystal Palace is replacing Aaron Wan-Bissaka<\/a>, who recently departed for Manchester United<\/a>. They have been linked with Atalanta right-back Timothy Castagne<\/a>. However, a deal is yet to be struck.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Roy Hodgson is in desperate need of adding further to his attacking options. A goal-scoring striker is a must, following their recent record of strikers.<\/p>\n

However, any deal may depend on whether Wilfried Zaha<\/a> makes a move away from Crystal Palace.<\/p>\n
