Vincent Janssen<\/a> has signed for<\/a> Mexican outfit C.F Monterrey. The Sun<\/a> claims that the transfer fee was around \u00a310 million. Thus, the Dutch player ends his spell at Tottenham Hotspur<\/a>, which was underwhelming to say the least.<\/p>\n

C.F Monterrey Sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Vincent Janssen<\/h2>\n

A Rough Spell for the Dutchman<\/h2>\n

Signing for Spurs in July 2016 for \u00a317 million, it looked as if the club had found their second striker.<\/p>\n

Prior to joining Spurs, Janssen scored 27 goals in 34 appearances for AZ Alkmaar in the 2015\/16 Eredivisie season. In the same year of 2016, the 25-year-old won Dutch Player of the Year.<\/p>\n

However, despite loads of praise and a solid goal-scoring record, it took some time for the Dutchman to adapt to life in the Premier League. Even starting in the Spurs side during Harry Kane<\/a>‘s injury spell in 2016, it still took Janssen until October of 2016 to score his first Premier League goal.<\/p>\n

His last appearance for the north London club was against Everton, on the final day of last season. This proved to be his last, as he will now be providing his services as a C.F Monterrey player.<\/p>\n

A Season Abroad – Hard Luck Continues<\/h3>\n

In September 2017, Spurs confirmed that Vincent Janssen had joined Turkish side Fenerbahce for the rest of the 2017\/18 season.<\/p>\n

Despite a positive start which included him scoring on his debut, as well as scoring in the Istanbul derby against Be\u015fikta\u015f, Janssen sustained an injury that sidelined him for a few months.<\/p>\n

Missing time on the field was far from ideal, especially given the Dutch player’s circumstances at that time.<\/p>\n

Last summer he returned to Spurs but the club did not offer Janssen a squad number. It was then reported that he had picked up a foot injury. Janssen worked to recovery with the club’s medical staff before making his return to the Spurs side on April 23rd coming on as a substitute in a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Move to C.F Monterrey – Another Chance?<\/h3>\n

The story of Vincent Janssen at Spurs is an unfortunate one. A striker who arrived at the club with so much promise, couldn’t find his form, become comfortable and riddled by bad luck.<\/p>\n

His move to C.F. Monterrey might provide him with a new lease of life. Also, it could possibly allow him to find his form and adapt to first-team football once again.<\/p>\n
