Oxford United<\/a> winger, Rob Hall<\/a>, has penned a new deal with the club. The 25-year-old has signed a new one year deal, with the club retaining a 12-month extension option.<\/p>\n

Hall missed large parts of the U’s campaign<\/a> with injury but has taken up a ‘pay as you play’ deal, something which will suit both parties.<\/p>\n

He has made just six appearances in 18 months with Oxford and has featured just 43 times over three seasons since joining from Bolton Wanderers.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old told the Oxford Mail<\/a>: \u201cI\u2019m relieved it\u2019s all done now.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve had it sorted for maybe two weeks now. I\u2019ve just come back off holiday so it was good to do that (before) so I could enjoy my only time off.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI didn\u2019t expect (the contract) to be anything like that last one. It was just whether we could agree terms.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not really a pay cut because if I\u2019m playing then it\u2019s sweet.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom a business side of things I guess they\u2019re just worried that if I broke down again, with the situation the club is in now I think it\u2019s fair to say they don\u2019t want to be wasting money.\u201d<\/p>\n

Going Forward<\/h2>\n

Oxford United<\/a> announced at the start of the month they were looking to tie Hall, along with defender, Curtis Nelson<\/a>, down with new deals.<\/p>\n

For Hall, staying with Oxford is a huge achievement. Having battled back after eight months out with injury to make an appearance in the final two games of the season was key.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI don\u2019t think anyone can take away from me what I\u2019ve done to get where I am now.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour family and friends are there for you, but there\u2019s a lot you have to do yourself.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be able to find the strength in myself to get through that, I\u2019m more proud of myself.<\/p>\n

Karl Robinson<\/a> said: \u201cIt\u2019s exciting because he has overcome a difficult two years and shown tremendous determination and character. He is a long way from where I want him to be but he will work continually with our fantastic sports science and medical team to be the best he can be. This is good news and now we need to keep building on it.\u201d<\/p>\n
