Norwich City<\/a> Sporting Director Stuart Webber has tipped the Canaries for an immediate return<\/a> to the Sky Bet Championship next season. This follows the side’s promotion to the top flight<\/a> under German coach Daniel Farke.<\/p>\n

Stuart Webber Tips Norwich City For Relegation<\/h1>\n

Norwich City sporting director Stuart Webber expects the Canaries to be favourites to be relegated next season. The Norfolk side have confirmed they will continue to operate with a smaller budget.<\/p>\n

Fulham<\/a>‘s mass spending of over \u00a3100 million last summer backfired as they were relegated with five games remaining.<\/p>\n

The Whites spent far more than usual after winning promotion to the top-flight for the first time in four years but were made to regret their decisions as they were sent back down.<\/p>\n

Norwich City, however, have claimed that they will not spend as dramatically as Fulham did, instead sticking to a small budget.<\/p>\n

Sporting director Stuart Webber told Sky Sports News<\/a>:\u00a0“We should be favourites to go down because we’ll have the lowest budget and we’ll have the lowest transfer funds available.<\/p>\n

“It’ll be low, probably one of the lowest ever spent in the competition. I don’t want to put a figure on it but it’ll be low.<\/p>\n

“We’re still paying for some of the mistakes of times gone by and some of the expensive signings. This allows us to clear all of that out and realign ourselves as a club.<\/p>\n

“It’s huge for a club like this, one that’s self-funded. Fundamentally, you live by Premier League revenue or having to sell players.<\/p>\n

“To get to the Premier League and not have to sell players is a nice place for us. Now we need to make some smart recruitment and retention decisions to try to overachieve again.”<\/p>\n

City conclude the season at Aston Villa<\/a> this Saturday. The Canaries need just a win to end the season as champions.<\/p>\n
