Ipswich Town were taught a lesson in attacking and defending by Sheffield United as the Blades sealed promotion to the Premier League with a 2-0 win.<\/p>\n
Scott Hogan<\/a> (24) and Jack O’Connell<\/a> (71) provided the all-important goals as Chris Wilder’s side achieved promotion to the top-flight.<\/p>\n The South Yorkshire club spent six years in the third-tier; however, the Blades have since achieved two promotions in three years under club stalwart Wilder. But Town boss Paul Lambert suggested that the Blues could experience similar celebrations next season.<\/p>\n \u201cOur players have to bottle that up and make sure they have this next year,\u201d said Lambert, reflecting on the joyous home celebrations at the final whistle to the East Anglian Daily Times<\/a>. \u201cWe have a lot of young lads and it will do them the world of good.<\/p>\n \u201cI’ve just said to them in there ‘remember this atmosphere because hopefully in 12 months time you’ll get something like that’. They (Sheffield United) were in League One for six years \u2013 that’s a long, long time \u2013 but they’ve built back to this point.<\/p>\n \u201cRight now we take our medicine and we rebuild. Ipswich could be an absolutely fantastic place next year. All the good things which have happened previously get me excited.<\/p>\n \u201cWe’ll come back and we’ll come out the traps, that’s for sure. We’ll be fit and ready.\u201d<\/p>\n Ipswich Town were relegated with four games left to play, and their poor form this campaign was on show once more at Bramall Lane.<\/p>\n Former Town striker David McGoldrick<\/a> moved to Sheffield United in the summer and has now won promotion to the Premier League; meanwhile, his former employers have been relegated to the third tier for the first time in 62 years.<\/p>\n Lambert\u00a0continued:<\/a> \u201cThe gulf was really, really big today. You can see the huge gap between us and them, absolutely. I don’t think anybody should be deluded and say we are near them. We’re not.<\/p>\n \u201cWe’ve not long come in and we’ve got to rebuild the club like it was rebuilt here. That’s something we’ve got to aspire to. This is the time of feeling you want.
