This season’s penultimate weekend in the EFL was full of drama. However, for Rotherham United<\/a> and Yeovil Town<\/a>, it has spelled the end of their seasons, with both sides suffering relegation from their respective divisions.<\/p>\n

Rotherham United and Yeovil Town Relegated on EFL’s Penultimate Weekend<\/h1>\n

Rotherham Relegated Back to League One<\/h2>\n

Despite a spirited performance away to West Bromwich Albion<\/a>, Rotherham will be playing League One football next season. The Millers were beaten 2-1 at the Hawthorns<\/a>, which means Paul Warne’s side will return to the third-tier.<\/p>\n

Clark Robertson gave Rotherham the lead in the 50th-minute to give them some hope that they could evade the drop. A penalty from Jay Rodriquez and a goal from Rekeem Harper gave Albion a 2-1 win, though.<\/p>\n

The club can look to re-building for next season, preparing to fight for a possible instant return to the second-tier. Ensuring that manager Paul Warne remains in-charge will be important if they want to mount a promotion push next season, something they have done well in their previous League One campaigns.<\/p>\n

Yeovil Town’s 16-Year Stay in the EFL Ends<\/h2>\n

After positive results for Notts County<\/a> and Macclesfield Town<\/a>, Yeovil Town’s 2-2 draw<\/a> against Northampton Town<\/a> ended their 16-year stint<\/a> in the EFL.<\/p>\n

The Somerset side led 2-0 at half-time thanks to goals from Tristan Abrahams and Jake Gray. However, they fell apart in the second half. The Cobblers pegged Yeovil back to 2-2 thanks to an own-goal from Omar Sowunmi and Daniel Powell’s strike.<\/p>\n

The Glovers have gone from the Championship to relegation to National League in just five years. The club has experienced a free-fall for some time now, and it has culminated in the club dropping out of the Football League.<\/p>\n

Now with a rumoured takeover happening at the club<\/a>, it will be interesting to see what transpires.<\/p>\n
