They are also set to announce an 18-month loan deal with an option to buy for Brazilian forward Gabriel Novaes. The three signings complete an <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonfootball.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2019\/01\/21\/report-kevin-prince-boateng-completes-shock-barcelona-move\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">extremely<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonfootball.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/feeds\/items\/arsenal-sign-denis-suarez-on-loan-from-barcelona\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">busy<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonfootball.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2019\/01\/23\/frenkie-de-jong-completes-move-to-barcelona\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">month<\/a> for the Catalans.<\/p>\n<h1>Barcelona Complete Deadline Day Triple Swoop<\/h1>\n<p>Let&#8217;s start with 19-year-old Brazilian forward Gabriel Novaes.\u00a0 The Brazilian youth international has been scoring goals in bunches for Sao Paolo&#8217;s youth team.\u00a0 He was the top scorer in the most recent Sao Paolo youth cup, really impressing in that tournament.\u00a0 Sevilla was considered favourites for his signature but the allure of Barcelona must have gotten to him.<\/p>\n<p>At Barcelona, Novaes will join up with the B team currently playing in the Segunda B, the third tier of Spanish football.\u00a0 He is expected to be given a run with that team before having the opportunity to compete for a first-team place over the summer.\u00a0 Whether that works out or not, Barca have\u00a0done a shrewd bit of low-risk, high-reward business.<\/p>\n<h2>The Permanent Deals<\/h2>\n<p>The first of two permanent signings they made today was another youngster, Jean-Clair Todibo.\u00a0 Todibo can play in defence or as a defensive midfielder and has been dubbed the next <a href=\"https:\/\/fbref.com\/en\/players\/9f8e9423\/?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Raphael Varane<\/a> for his strong combination of size and speed.\u00a0 Todibo played quite well for Toulouse towards start this season, but he has recently been amongst the substitutes.<\/p>\n<p>After Todibo signed a pre-contract agreement with Barcelona, Toulouse forced him to the bench.\u00a0 Toulouse thought Barcelona had &#8216;stolen&#8217; their player and therefore did not want to negotiate with the Catalans.\u00a0 They eventually caved after Barcelona agreed to pay\u00a0\u20ac3 million for Todibo to join them now.<\/p>\n<p>The other permanent signing made was Brazilian youngster Emerson.\u00a0 The 20-year-old right-back from Athletico Mineiro\u00a0is another attacking full-back that Barcelona hope to develop.\u00a0 However, this time, instead of keeping him at Camp Nou they have sent him <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realbetisbalompie.es\/noticias\/actualidad\/el-real-betis-incorpora-al-lateral-brasileno-emerson-21577\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">out on loan to Real Betis<\/a> for the rest of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Of the three signings, this is by far the most expensive.\u00a0 Barcelona are paying Athletico Mineiro\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.as.com\/en\/2019\/01\/31\/football\/1548961316_094048.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u20ac12 million<\/a> to bring in the young full-back.\u00a0 The fee will be paid in July but it is unclear whether Emerson will join in July.\u00a0 There is speculation that Barcelona will keep him at Betis for another season before bringing him to the Nou Camp.<\/p>\n<p>Main Photo<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"6M7SBL-SSc9kCJWr1qxyYg\" class=\"gie-single\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gettyimages.co.uk\/detail\/1060296148\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"color:#a7a7a7;text-decoration:none;font-weight:normal !important;border:none;display:inline-block;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Embed from Getty Images<\/a><script>window.gie=window.gie||function(c){(gie.q=gie.q||[]).push(c)};gie(function(){gie.widgets.load({id:'6M7SBL-SSc9kCJWr1qxyYg',sig:'sf5cXOGV22bth5_XdsEPqf6nR2dN8m2LuaH4t13rRZU=',w:'594px',h:'395px',items:'1060296148',caption: true ,tld:'co.uk',is360: false })});<\/script><script src='\/\/embed-cdn.gettyimages.com\/widgets.js' charset='utf-8' async><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Barcelona have completed a deadline day double signing of two interesting young players, with a third set to be announced imminently.\u00a0 First, they have signed 18-year-old French defender Jean-Clair\u00a0Todibo, then\u00a0also signed another young Brazilian, Emerson, from Athletico Mineiro. for\u00a0\u20ac12 million.
