An incredible weekend of Premier League football continued at Goodison Park as Everton<\/a> welcomed Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> in Sunday\u2019s only Premier League game.<\/p>\n

Everton have shown improvement under Marco Silva whilst Spurs have had their best start ever to a Premier League season.<\/p>\n

Spurs Blow Everton Away<\/h1>\n

The first falf was open and fast-paced; really high octane football. Everton were set up to press Spurs and play at a fast pace. On ten minutes, Marco Silva\u2019s tactics nearly paid off as Richarlison had a chance but he couldn\u2019t correct his feet and the ball dribbled wide. From then on, Spurs took the game to Everton and it was only going to be a matter of time before Spurs took one of their numerous chances.<\/p>\n

On 15 minutes, Kurt Zouma<\/a> <\/b>got to the ball ahead of Harry Kane<\/a> <\/b>but followed through and it could easily have been a penalty. Just as Spurs were dominating, Everton took the lead through, of all people,\u00a0Theo Walcott<\/a>.<\/b> Kieran Trippier<\/a> <\/b>was caught out at the back and Walcott was able to fire home from close range.<\/p>\n

Spurs Take Control<\/h2>\n

It did not take long for Spurs to regain parity. Kane played a ball over the top, leaving\u00a0Jordan Pickford<\/a> <\/b>and Kurt Zouma<\/a>\u00a0to make a hash of things. Heung-min Son stole the ball and, even though the net was empty, he had plenty to do as he fired home.<\/p>\n

Less than ten minutes later, Spurs were ahead. Son shot and Jordan Pickford<\/a> saved. As good a goalkeeper as Jordan Pickford<\/a> is, he does push the ball back into the danger areas and Dele Alli<\/a> <\/b>took\u00a0advantage to give Spurs a deserved lead.<\/p>\n

Spurs weren\u2019t done there. They got a free-kick on the edge of the box. Trippier was having a nightmare defensively but curled the free-kick around the wall onto the post. The ball fell to Harry Kane<\/a> who forced home and the visitors went into break with a 3-1 lead.<\/p>\n

Goals Continue in Second Half<\/h2>\n

If anyone thought that the second half would slow down, how wrong they were! Just three minutes after the break, Christian Eriksen<\/a> fired a beautiful volley into the bottom corner to give Spurs a 4-1 lead. However, Everton fired straight back as former Spur\u00a0Gylfi Sigurdsson<\/a> fired low across Hugo Lloris<\/a>, who should have done much better. The keepers at both end were not covering themselves in glory at Goodison Park.<\/p>\n

Son Shines Yet Again<\/h2>\n

Son is a player that smiles and his football shines. Erik Lamela<\/a> <\/b>had come on at half-time to replace the injured Alli, who was poleaxed by Pickford at the end of the first half. Lamela picked up the ball and Son\u2019s movement was yet again superb. Spurs\u2019 three-goal advantage was restored.<\/p>\n

It is not just his goal-scoring but his teamwork that makes Son such a special player. He gets so much space and when he does it means Kane is also free. Son, on 74 minutes, played a square ball and Kane grabbed his second as Spurs ran riot.<\/p>\n

Simply Sensational Spurs<\/h2>\n

There has been talk about Mauricio Pochettino. He hit back calmly and explained how he is committed to Spurs<\/a>. His players clearly respect him, maybe even love him.<\/p>\n

Everton are a good team and building under Silva. Spurs are much further on in their project and at Everton were simply sublime. Son, Alli, Eriksen and Kane were almost unplayable at times. The movement, the finishing, the skill and the talent were a joy to watch.<\/p>\n

Spurs are hitting their stride at the best time and are right in the Premier League title race.<\/p>\n
