Ryan Mason fractured his skull following a sickening collision with Gary Cahill less than fifteen minutes into Hull’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The game stopped for over nine minutes and there were serious concerns over Mason’s well-being.<\/p>\n
There was little to no update throughout the game but following the surgery and initial medical report it has been confirmed that Mason has suffered a fractured skull and some internal bleeding.<\/p>\n
Having quickly been rushed to St Mary’s hospital, a Hull City spokesperson had this to say<\/a> on this to say on Mason’s treatment:\u00a0“Everyone at the Club would like to express their sincere thanks for the excellent and swift care given to Ryan by both the Accident and Emergency department and Neurosurgery Unit at St Mary\u2019s Hospital.”<\/p>\n Mason, 25, had made the move to Hull a year after signing a five-and-a-half year deal during last summer’s transfer window, hoping to gain more first team football following an irritating spell at Tottenham which saw him make five loan moves before finally having some success in the first team.<\/p>\n Little has been said about Chelsea cruising their way to an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, as the entirety of the footballing community\u2014including the FA<\/a> and his former club Tottenham<\/a>\u2014has been wishing Mason a full recovery.<\/p>\n Everyone at the Club sends their best wishes to @RyanMason<\/a> for a full and speedy recovery.
