It was a must win game for Tottenham<\/a> at Wembley Stadium as they took on Inter Milan in the Champions League. Last Word on Football<\/a> looks back at a result that keeps Spurs alive in this season\u2019s Chmpions League.<\/p>\n

Eriksen Cameo Secures Victor<\/a>y<\/h1>\n

Harry Winks\u00a0<\/a>and Lucas Moura<\/a> both came in to start. Having scored a solo wonder goal against Chelsea<\/a>, Heung Min-Son was on the bench with a resurgent Moussa Sissoko<\/a> starting again in midfield.<\/p>\n

Spurs started the stronger of the two teams and it looked like it might be a frustrating night for the home side as possession was not turned into goals.<\/p>\n

Missed Chances<\/h2>\n

Winks hit the bar and Jan Vertonghen<\/a> somehow missed from a Christian Eriksen<\/a> free-kick. It looked like Spurs missed chances were going to be costly. Erik Lamela<\/a> and Moura were both guilty of giving away possession and the guile of Eriksen was clearly missed.<\/p>\n

Super Sub<\/h2>\n

Spurs struggled to get the much-needed goal in the second half and Eriksen was finally introduced. It was ultimately his goal that gave Spurs all theee points and consequently means that they head into the final game against Barcelona<\/a> needing to better Inter Milan\u2019s result to progress to the knock out stages of the competition.<\/p>\n

Sissoko Stars Again<\/h2>\n

Whilst Eriksen will get the plaudits for his match winning performance from the bench, Man of the Match was Moussa Sissoko. Coming off the back of a superb performance against Chelsea, Sissoko was determined that he was going to grab this tie by the scruff of the neck. Marauding runs and close ball control are fast becoming the style of this strong player. He goes past players with ease and defenders just bounce off his huge, solid frame.<\/p>\n

Tottenham didn\u2019t need to be in this position. Costly errors earlier in the competition have meant that Spurs have created a mountain to climb.<\/p>\n

But this team are nothing if not resilient and bounce back at every call. They now have their fate mostly in their own hands and go to the Nou Camp needing to win and then hoping PSV can do them a favour.<\/p>\n

It will be nail-biting in a couple of weeks time and, if Spurs do progress, it will be a sign that this squad really can create glory and make the fans’ dreams come true.<\/p>\n
