Real Madrid<\/a> have offered caretaker manager Santiago Solari the full-time role until the end of the current La Liga campaign. Solari took over after the 5-1 humiliation in last month\u2019s El Classico, replacing Julen Lopetegui.<\/a><\/p>\n

Strong Start for Santiago Solari<\/h1>\n

Incredibly, Solari has had the best start in his four wins of any Real manager in 116 years. Real Madrid are four points behind Barcelona<\/a> and currently sit sixth in La Liga.<\/p>\n

Sky Sports<\/a> report that in La Liga, a caretaker manager can only be in position for 15 days. Spanish media suggest that the ruling may have subsequently forced Real\u2019s hand, although the early results and signs are positive.<\/p>\n

Impressed<\/h2>\n

Santiago Solari took the job as manager having been promoted from managing the Real Madrid B. Emilio Butra said the club has been impressed with what they have seen so far.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe truth is that we are very happy with him. There is no doubt that he came at a very particular moment and has been able to achieve very good results.\u201d<\/p>\n

These comments were made by club director\u00a0Emilio Butragueno.<\/p>\n

Solari can now concentrate on improving the team\u2019s position in La Liga and they are also sitting comfortably top of Group C in the Champions League.<\/p>\n

Solari\u2019s position will be reviewed at the end of the current La Liga campaign.<\/p>\n

Replacing Lopetegui<\/h2>\n

Los Blancos had suffered an awful start to the season under Julen Lopetegui, who only took over in the summer, just one day prior to the start of the World Cup. They were leaking goals and not scoring many at the other end either.<\/p>\n

Since Solari’s arrival as the caretaker, both of those aspects of Madrid’s game have improved. They have scored 15 goals in Solari’s spell and only conceded two, which is an enormous improvement in such a short space of time.<\/p>\n

If they were to mount a charge to catch up to Barcelona from here, there’s no reason that Solari won’t be in charge for much longer than just the end of the season.<\/p>\n
