Hull City<\/strong> have parted ways with manager Mike Phelan<\/strong><\/a> after only three months as Steve Bruce’s<\/strong> full time replacement. Phelan took over late in the summer after Bruce abruptly left the club. He was interim manager until October, when his role was made official. No caretaker has been named yet.<\/p>\n

Hull City Sack Manager Mike Phelan<\/h2>\n

It has been a tough period for Phelan’s side. They have 13 points from 20 matches this season. This sees them at the bottom of the Premier League<\/strong> table, and three points from\u00a0the safety of relegation. \u00a0Hull have only one win in 18 games with their last victory coming against Southampton on November 6.\u00a0This comes after a promising start, in which\u00a0they won their first two matches of the season.<\/p>\n

Phelan’s last match in charge was a 3-1 defeat at West Bromwich Albion<\/strong> that saw the side waste an early lead, with a goal from Robert Snodgrass<\/strong>. West Brom scored three unanswered goals in the second half to take the three points. It was their fifth defeat in their last seven league matches.<\/p>\n

Besides the record, Hull’s performances have not been great. They also have the worst scoring record in the Premier League with only 17 goals. Their 44 conceded is only surpassed by Swansea City’s<\/strong> 45. Scottish international Snodgrass is the only player with more than three goals on the season. Their second leading scorer is a defender, Michael Dawson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

While a search for a replacement has begun, no candidates have emerged quite yet. The Tigers will host Swansea City in the FA Cup this weekend and return to league action against AFC Bournemouth<\/strong> on January 14.<\/p>\n
