The draw for the second round of the Carabao Cup was made last night before Sunderland’s fixture with Sheffield Wednesday, the last game of Round One. Round Two sees the introduction of Premier League teams who are not in any European competitions as well as those Football League teams that successfully navigated through their first game.<\/p>\n
The first of two standout ties in the Southern section comes in the form of AFC Wimbledon v West Ham United. It will be the first meeting between the two sides when they come together at Kingsmeadow. The Dons have never got past the first round of the competition, while the Hammers have twice reached the semi-finals, in 2010\/11 and 2013\/14.<\/p>\n
The second standout fixture takes place at the Vitality Stadium as Premier League side Bournemouth take on MK Dons from League Two. The two sides haven’t met since 2013 when the Cherries ran out 3-0 winners at Stadium MK in a League One fixture. The last Dons win was a year earlier, also in League One, with Mathias Kouo-Doumbe scoring the only goal.<\/p>\n
