Football Transfer News: Latest on Boyata, Courtois and Rodriguez<\/h1>\n

Boyata’s Fulham Move Denied<\/h2>\n

As Dedryck Boyata<\/a> enters the final year of his Celtic contract, Fulham have tabled a bid for the Belgium player. The Cottagers\u00a0have been linked with a move for the player throughout the summer transfer window and remain confident of getting their man. Celtic, however, are not keen to sell with boss Brendan Rodgers saying:<\/p>\n

\u201dIt would be very difficult for us to replace him at this late stage.\u00a0From a football perspective, we don\u2019t need to sell any players\u201d<\/p>\n

Celtic expect further bids but seem determined to keep Boyata after this transfer window.<\/p>\n

Courtois Absent Without Leave<\/h2>\n

This transfer window has already seen players late to report back for training. According to Sky Sports<\/a>, Thibaut Courtois has now missed a second day of training with Chelsea<\/a>. Courtois has not hidden his desire to join Real Madrid and new Chelsea manager Maurizzio Sarri said:<\/p>\n

“I want only players with a high level of motivation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Courtois now seems to be forcing a move but Chelsea will not sell until they have a replacement.<\/p>\n

Rodriguez in Sights of West Ham, Spurs and Burnley<\/h2>\n

Jay Rodriguez, 29, was part of the West Bromwich Albion<\/a> team that found itself relegated last season. West Ham, Spurs, Bournemouth and Burnley<\/a> have all shown interest in the striker. West Brom value him at around \u00a318 million pounds and his continued lack of injuries means he is seen as a good signing for any of these clubs.<\/p>\n

Rodriguez played his best football under Mauricio Pochettino at Southampton and the striker would relish the chance to play for his former manager.<\/p>\n

West Ham have spent over \u00a3100 million already this summer whereas Spurs are yet to make any signings in this transfer window. This could be a transfer that waits until the later stages of the window.<\/p>\n
