The Netherlands<\/strong>\u00a0World Cup Qualifying<\/strong> campaign has gotten off to a less than stellar start. After three matches they are 1-1-1, sitting third in Group A\u00a0with only four points.<\/p>\n

The Netherlands Announce World Cup Qualifying Roster<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Dutch\u00a0have struggled defensively with sloppy passing at the back, including a disastrous error by Kevin Strootman<\/strong> which lead directly to the goal in their 1-1\u00a0draw against Sweden<\/strong>. A stunning 30-yard strike by Paul Pogba<\/strong> lead the French<\/strong> to a 1-0 win over Holland, albeit Maarten Stekelenburg<\/strong> should have saved it.<\/p>\n

The only bright spot was the game against Belarus, an easy 4-1 win with young stars Quincy Promes<\/strong> and Vincent Janssen<\/strong> performing magnificently. The\u00a0Netherlands\u00a0will take on neighbouring Luxembourg<\/strong> on November 13th<\/sup> and will then travel to Bulgaria<\/strong> to play on November 25th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

Danny Blind<\/strong> and the KNVB<\/strong> have announced their preliminary squad for both matches.<\/p>\n

Jasper Cillessen<\/strong>, Maarten Stekelenburg<\/strong>, Michel Vorm<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jordie Clasie<\/strong>, Davy Klaassen<\/strong>, Davy Propper<\/strong>, Bart Ramselaar<\/strong>, Stijn Schaars<\/strong>, Wesley Sneijder<\/strong>, Tony Vilhena<\/strong>, Georginio Wijnaldum<\/strong><\/p>\n

Forwards:<\/h2>\n

Memphis Depay<\/strong>, Bas Dost<\/strong>, Vincent Janssen<\/strong>, Luuk De Jong<\/strong>, Jeremain Lens<\/strong>, Quincy Promes<\/strong>, Arjen Robben<\/strong><\/p>\n

A fully fit Arjen Robben will prove invaluable to a team that sometimes struggles creatively. And Blind will have a tough decision as to who to put on the other wing, as both Jeremain Lens and Quincy Promes are having terrific seasons with their domestic clubs.<\/p>\n

Although the addition of veteran Stijn Schaars is a little puzzling, as the 32-year-old has not featured with the team for a number of years now. His spot leaves no room for Kevin Strootman<\/strong> and Leroy Fer<\/strong>, both of whom seemed to have been snubbed by Blind.<\/p>\n

These are two must-win games for the Netherlands, as Bulgaria and Luxembourg are below them in the group. The team will most likely play the traditional Dutch 4-3-3 formation, as they will have most of the possession.<\/p>\n
