On today’s edition, we will discuss Antoine Griezmann rejecting Barcelona, the future of Anthony Martial, what Gareth Bale is up to, and which London side are monitoring Chelsea defender David Luiz.

Latest on Martial, Griezmann, Bale and David Luiz

The Decision 2.0

Antoine Griezmann has made a video announcing that he is staying with Atletico Madrid, thus has effectively rejected long-term admirers FC Barcelona.

This will come as an embarrassing blow to the Catalan giants. They had been monitoring the 29-goal striker for over six months. Barcelona will now turn their attention to the likes of Anthony Martial and Paulo Dybala who could both be interested, as they are unhappy at their respective current clubs.

Moody Martial

Anthony Martial wants out of Manchester United according to his agent. He spoke to French reporters expressing his client’s frustration at lack of game time in Manchester. The French youngster is reportedly furious at missing out on the French 2018 World Cup squad.

Tottenham and Juventus are both interested in Martial’s signature. United would rather sell him abroad, however, they want Toby Alderweireld of Tottenham. Tottenham will likely push to snare the youngster in any deal involving their prized Belgian centre-back.

Arsenal Chase David Luiz

Arsenal have reportedly had a bid of £20 million rejected by Chelsea for Brazillian defender David Luiz. Luiz has been frozen out of Stamford Bridge, and the former PSG man is reportedly open to a move across the English capital. Arsenal have had defensive issues for some time. It would, therefore, be a gamble recruiting the eccentric Brazillian. He could provide the answer to their defensive chaos, or make it worse.

Bale Out

Real Madrid have set a value of £150 million on Welsh star Gareth Bale. The former Tottenham winger has had limited game time in Madrid and has thus said he is ready for a move, stating this directly following the Champion’s League final.

Tottenham are interested, but the price tag may not be feasible for the North London side. Manchester United, PSG and Bayern Munich are also monitoring this year’s Champions League final match-winner.

Embed from Getty Images

Welcome to Football Transfer News, brought to you by Last Word on Football.
