Today, we first turn our attention to Merseyside, where the hottest rumour surrounds Jurgen Klopp and a possible move to the Bernabeu.

Real to Pursue Jurgen Klopp? Alisson Deal Stalls, Shaqiri Wants Away

Madrid Making a Real Swoop for Jurgen Klopp?

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been ‘called’ by Real Madrid and offered the chance to become the club’s manager. ‘Los Blancos’ are looking for a new boss after Zinedine Zidane resigned in the wake of the Champions League final victory over the Reds. The Daily Mirror have repeated claims that Klopp is Perez’ new primary target.

There had been rampant speculation that Real Madrid’s prime target Spurs’ Mauricio Pochettino could be swapping one set of white shirts for another, despite a new deal announced by the North London Club. However, the rumours were quickly dispelled as the club and man himself revealed he will be staying in North London, and there was never a ‘release clause’ as widely rumoured.

Now reports in Spain suggest Jurgen Klopp is now the man Perez wants to become their new leader. Ironic, as he fronted the team that were demolished by Zidane’s men in the Champions League Final. The temptation of a blank cheque and the reins of one of the worlds biggest clubs surely a temptation for any. Even Jurgen Klopp.

Reports say the German could be entrusted with a huge overhaul of the Real Madrid squad. They also claim ‘Las Blancos’ have already contacted the flamboyant Red’s boss. There’s been no official comment from Liverpool.

No Go For Alisson?

If reports from the Independent are correct, Liverpool could also be facing the possibility of losing out on Roma goalkeeper Alisson. Alisson was said to be favourite to replace doomed Loris Karius following his ill-fated Champions League Final. Ironically, the Brazilian stopper is also being lured by the Spanish giants. His much-publicised love for the club, therefore, becoming a factor.

There is still no confirmation from Merseyside of the much talked about deal to sign Nabil Fakir from Lyon. Last week Fakir admitted he was open to a move to Anfield, with Klopp keen to add to his attack. There were even suggestions the player’s representative would be arriving at Anfield for talks. Metro Sport reveals that the French club stated: “Liverpool’s interest exists but for the moment nothing is done and other clubs could come in. The window will be long.”

Therefore it’s safe to say The Reds’ fans will not be enjoying the current gossip. Fakir himself is currently on French international duty.

A Silva Lining for Lascelles?

Staying on Merseyside, Everton Boss Marco Silva has just held a press conference live on Sky Sports. Rumour is rife that Silva is set to make a dramatic swoop for Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles.

Silva said “First of all I am very proud to be here as Everton’s new Manager. Excited, and really happy and excited to start”

When asked what his first priority was as manager, he replied “There is many things. First, it’s important for us to meet and to analyse what we need, and to get to know each other. I know what he said our fans expect. I know what they want to see every game, every time in our team. We need a big commitment, big attitude, always big motivation and always ambition.”

The conference was temporarily cut off. When restarted, Silva was asked again about transfer targets. Still smiling when asked about Richarlison, and Carvalho he said; “Who?”

Silva repeatedly said they would first examine their own squad before, in his words: “In the next few days we can name names and names. But first, we shall look inside. I have big names, it’s not so big this list.”

Benitez spoke last season of his confidence that Lascelles would remain at St. James’ Park. The Spaniard said “I think he will stay here, and hopefully for the long-term.” The Toon Army will be looking for both of the aforementioned to remain on Tyneside.

View the full press conference in the link below.

Nearby, Sunderland saw the exit of John O’Shea to Reading after a seven-year spell. The player had indicated at a press conference there was no communication between himself and the Black Cats, indicating, therefore, the one-year extension on his contract would unlikely be renewed.

O’Shea couldn’t help his side avoid a second successive relegation. Having previously stated his future probably lay in coaching, Reading have stepped in to keep his boots off the hook for one more season. Albeit at the other end of the country.

Silva on Rooney: “He’s a legend”

Both men refused to speculate about the Lascelles rumour, neither confirming or ruling out Lascelles and indeed Richarlison from Watford as a target. When questioned on whether Silva wanted Wayne Rooney to stay he simply said; “When I arrived this had already been started.” Surprisingly, he went on to say that Rooney was a legend. Adding the “door will always be open for him….It was Wayne’s decision. “

Silva is looking for a permanent defensive partner for Michael Keane. With stalwarts Phil Jagielka and Ashley Williams not getting any younger, Silva eyes Lascelles amid the furore surrounding the future of Rafa Benitez. Silva has the task of changing the club’s style of play following the criticism of Sam Allardyce’s methods. Methods that resulted in his exit.

Toffees to Wrap Up Konsa Move?

The Mirror reports that a second arrival at Goodison Park could come in the form of Charlton’s Ezri Konsa. The Toffees have been eying the Under-20’s England international since the January window. No mention of this was made in the press conference.

Baptista to Bolton?

Bolton Wanderers are close to signing former Arsenal and Real Madrid striker Julio Baptista. According to the Sun, the Trotters are set to sign 35-year-old, who is a free agent, in their bid to fight off relegation. Baptista played for Arsenal in the 2006/07 season, scoring twice in 35 appearances.

Shaqiri To Jump Ship?

Finally, Sky Sports have claimed that Stoke’s Xherdan Shaqiri says “It’s no secret” that he will leave Stoke this summer.

The winger had previously stated that he was happy at the Potters, but this was before their relegation.

He told Aargauer Zeitung “It is no secret that I will leave the club. I think the Premier League is perfect for me. I would love to stay in England but I don’t want to rule anything out. It’s the best League with the best players.”

Currently on international duty with Switzerland ahead of the World Cup, Shaquiri scored seven goals and six assists for Stoke this season. His current contract runs until 2020.

We will keep you updated on the ex- Bayern Munich star’s move and other transfer news, including Jurgen Klopp, right here.

🎥 | LIVE!
