The German would sign a five-year deal with the Italian giants after playing in England for the past four years.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season, Can would sign for Juve on a free transfer, leaving his compatriot and current manager Jürgen Klopp to try and win trophies without him.

Emre Can Almost Set For Juventus Move

Liverpool’s Loss

Since joining Liverpool in 2014, Can played 123 games, recording 12 goals, eight assists and averaging an 83.5% pass completion.

After Jürgen Klopp’s arrival, Can started to play more regularly and became one of the Reds’ pillars in midfield alongside Jordan Henderson. His strong physique and exceptional capacity to move the ball make him the perfect choice to Liverpool’s playing style.

The combination of defensive and creative qualities he possesses is quite rare to find these days. That’s why Klopp was so desperate to keep him around.

Juve’s Gain

Juventus have just won another league title, making it their seventh in seven consecutive seasons. Their squad is very strong and balanced but could still benefit from Can’s qualities.

The Italians have six central midfielders who would compete with Emre Can for a spot in the starting eleven. Nonetheless, three of these six are already over 30 years of age and could start to lose physical capacity soon.

Claudio Marchisio, 32, already suffers from chronic physical problems and played only 15 games in Serie A this season. Sami Khedira, on the other hand, was fit for the most part of the season but doesn’t have the creativity and attacking contribution that Can has.

Stefano Sturaro and Rodrigo Bentancur are both younger than the 24-year-old German but don’t have the same attributes or quality.

Miralem Pjanic and Blaise Matuidi could be considered safe as there would be room for both alongside Can in Juve’s midfield.

This scenario gives Can the confidence to move to Italy. Any player would be eager to join a club that wins trophies every season. After seven consecutive league titles, Juventus don’t look like losing their dominance any time soon.

Main Photo

Embed from Getty Images

Multiple reports indicate Emre Can’s move to Juventus is almost certain and must be completed after the World Cup.
