Swansea have agreed terms with Ostersunds FK manager Graham Potter as their new boss, a deal which includes a compensation package, his current assistant Billy Reid, and recruitment guru Kyle Macaulay.<\/p>\n
Solihull-born Potter has been managing Ostersunds FK in Sweden since 2011. The 43-year-old will be replacing departed\u00a0Carlos Carvalhal<\/a> at the Liberty Stadium. Swansea will be\u00a0hoping Potter can guide them back to the Premier League.<\/p>\n Potter has successfully lifted Osterlund from the lower tiers in Sweden to the top-flight Allsvenskan with three promotions. They also won the Swedish Cup under his command.<\/p>\n In addition to a new leader, there are several key areas that need to be addressed at Swansea. Even with the acquisition of Tammy Abraham, they have been converting few chances. Consequently, this helped lead them to relegation. This is an ongoing problem<\/a>.<\/p>\n Aerial duels and defending counter-attacks have also been a weakness for the Swans. Their defence, equally shaky despite a brave effort to remain in the Premier League.<\/p>\n Furthermore, Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion<\/a> have also gone down to the Championship. Stoke have appointed Gary Rowett<\/a> as their new manager, whilst West Brom have handed Darren Moore a full-time position. This comes after Moore earned points against Manchester United<\/a>, Spurs<\/a> and Liverpool<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Championship will be very competitive, thus former Ostersunds boss will have a difficult challenge at hand. He likes challenging players,\u00a0taking them out of their comfort zones. In the past, he has encouraged his side to become involved with music and theatre productions.<\/a><\/p>\n A Graham Potter team is very flexible in how it\u2019s set up. They usually dominate possession, but with an attacking \u00a0style.<\/p>\n Swansea fans were used to watching to attacking football under both Brendan Rogers and Michael Laudrup. They will therefore be expecting more of the same. One thing fans should expect is change.
