Queens Park Rangers have appointed Steve McClaren as manager of the club on a two-year contract.<\/p>\n
The former England boss returns to QPR five years after his last spell at the club. He was a first-team coach while Harry Redknapp was in charge.<\/p>\n
This will be his first job in management since March 2017, when he ended his second spell at Derby County. He spent the rest of last year at Israeli club\u00a0Maccabi Tel Aviv as a consultant.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s great to be back \u2013 and it\u2019s a challenge that I\u2019m excited by,\u201d McClaren told the club\u2019s website.<\/a> \u201cI\u2019ve followed the club closely over the last five years, because of the three months I had here. From the outside, I\u2019ve seen the progress, work and changes that have gone on in streamlining the squad and getting the budget down.
