Wolves Looking To Sign Fan Favourite Striker

According to an exclusive report from Liam Keen, Wolverhampton Wanderers have sent club staff to Mexico to complete a deal to re-sign Raúl Jiménez this week. The move would represent one of the most emotional transfers in recent Wolves history, bringing back to Molineux a player synonymous with the club’s Premier League rise.

For many supporters, Jiménez is more than a former player. He is one of the defining figures in Wolves’ modern success, helping transform the club from newly promoted Premier League hopefuls into European contenders.

Raúl Jiménez Return Edges Closer as Wolves Look to Bring The Mexican Striker Home

A Key Figure in Wolves’ Golden Era

Jiménez initially arrived on loan from Benfica in 2018 before making his move permanent the following summer. He quickly established himself as the focal point of Nuno Espírito Santo’s exciting side, combining intelligent movement, physical presence and clinical finishing.

His influence was central to the side securing back-to-back seventh-place finishes in the Premier League and reaching the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals. During the 2019/20 campaign, he enjoyed the most prolific season of his career, scoring 27 goals in all competitions and cementing his status as one of the league’s most complete forwards.

The Mexican’s story is remembered for more than his goals. In November 2020, Jiménez suffered a life-threatening skull fracture following a collision with Arsenal defender David Luiz.

The injury changed the course of his career, but his determination to return to professional football earned widespread admiration throughout the game. His resilience only strengthened his connection with the Wanderers fanbase, who continued to view him as one of the club’s most important modern players.

The Numbers Behind The Legacy

Across his five seasons at Molineux, Jiménez made 166 appearances, scoring 57 goals and providing 23 assists. Those statistics only tell part of the story. His ability to link play, bring teammates into attacking moves and deliver in key moments made him indispensable during one of the most successful periods Wolves have enjoyed in the Premier League era.

Following his departure from Wolves in 2023, Jiménez joined Fulham in search of regular football and a fresh start. At Craven Cottage, he gradually rediscovered the confidence and form that made him such a feared striker during his peak years.

During the 2025/26 Premier League term, the experienced forward registered nine goals and three assists in 36 league appearances. While not matching the remarkable numbers of his prime, he proved he still has plenty to offer at the highest level, which would make this an incredible signing for his former side in the Championship.

Questions remain about how large a role Jiménez could play compared to his first spell at Molineux. However, dropping down a division would make him one of the most experienced strikers in the Championship.

Few players have enjoyed the affection Jiménez receives from the Wolves faithful, and the prospect of seeing him return to Molineux would be warmly welcomed by the fans, with Sí Señor certain to be reverberating throughout Molineux in the first game of the season. If Wolves can complete the deal, it will not simply be the signing of a striker. It will be the return of a player who helped define one of the greatest periods in the club’s recent history and whose legacy at Molineux is already secure.
