Stade Rennais Keen to Sell Player Before Contract Expiry

Stade Rennais are once again cashing in on one of their biggest young talents, Brandon Soppy. The full-back joined Rennais in 2017 and progressed through the academy before making his senior team debut last year. The 19-year-old has represented France at U16, U17 and U18 level. During this period, Soppy has already made 11 appearances for Rennais, including two appearances in the Champions League.

Soppy’s future was always in doubt after he failed to sign a contract extension. Rennais were keen on selling the full-back before allowing him to move on a free at the end of next summer.

Stade Rennais Sign Lovro Majer

Rennais have officially announced the signing of Lovro Majer from Dinamo Zagreb. The attacking midfielder has put pen to paper on a five-year contract that will see him tied at the club until June 2026. The Croatian international joins Rennais after four seasons with Dinamo Zagreb.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Rennais will pay €12million to complete the transfer of the 23-year-old. The agreement will also see Dinamo Zagreb entitled to 20% from any future sales involving the attacking midfielder.

A product of Lokomotiva Zagreb, Majer made his debut in 2016. The attacking midfielder spent two seasons with Lokomotiva before moving to Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb. After a slow start, Majer slowly became an integral part of the first team. He played an important part as Dinamo Zagreb completed the double in Croatia during last season. In four seasons with Zagreb, Majer made 100 appearances and scored 39 goals.
