Manchester United Transfer News: Raphael Varane Close to Agreeing Personal Terms

Manchester United transfer news

Manchester United transfer news just continues to come thick and fast with reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano reporting that personal terms with Raphael Varane will not be a problem for the club. The Real Madrid defender would be the perfect acquisition for the Red Devils who will be desperate to build on last season’s second-placed finish.

Having already signed Jadon Sancho, too, Manchester United are in a better position than ever to secure silverware under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The former Borussia Dortmund winger will combine with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood to form a trio fit for challenging for titles.

If they manage to secure a deal for Varane as well, then United will have the opportunity to form one of the best defensive partnerships in the Premier League. Maguire’s aerially ability and physicality would combine perfectly with Varane’s agility and speed.

Real Madrid Are Playing a Risky Game

Having already said goodbye to Sergio Ramos, Real Madrid are playing a dangerous game when it comes to the Varane situation. If they lose the Frenchman, Madrid run the risk of being short in quality at the back. Without the stalwart partnership of Varane and Ramos, the Spaniards would have little choice but to turn to the likes of Nacho Fernandez or Eder Militao to partner new man David Alana.

Both have the ability to do the job on occasion, but on a consistent basis? Unlikely. If Madrid want to remain in contention for the La Liga title, they must keep hold of Varane or, at the very least, act in the transfer market.

As for Manchester United, the fans will be delighted with the current transfer news and the hope will be for that news to become official in the coming weeks before the Premier League kicks off.
