According to BILD, Borussia Dortmund are open to the idea of selling Manchester United target Jadon Sancho. The news comes as little surprise with the Manchester club long-term admirers of the winger.
From a Dortmund point of view, too, the news comes as no shock. For years, we’ve seen the club act as a revolving door for world-class players. From Robert Lewandowski to Mario Gotze and now likely Jadon Sancho, players have arrived, developed and departed a star.
It is not clear as of yet how much the German club will demand for the winger. What we do know, however, it that it will likely be less than the initial price set last summer, which was out of the Manchester United range.

Jadon Sancho: The Missing Piece at Old Trafford
when speaking about top players at Borussia Dortmund, in truth, Sancho is often outshined by Erling Haaland. Yet, he shouldn’t be. In fact, it could be argued that without the architect behind his goals, Haaland wouldn’t be such a force.
Without Manchester United target Jadon Sancho this season, the forward didn’t look his best. As soon as the winger returned, however, both he and the rest of the team were revitalised.
Wihout Sancho, Dortmund looked unlikely to reach the top four. When he returned, he made the all-important difference as they won seven out of seven to secure top four and win the DFB-Pokal along the way- defeating RB Leipzig 4-1 courtesy of a Sancho and Haaland brace.
To help take a side in such disarray to a strong finish is an achievement in itself and proves Sancho’s worth. Now imagine if he had other like-minded players around him. Imagine the likes of Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Bruno Fernandes combining with target Jadon Sancho at Old Trafford- all singing on the same hymn sheet.
It would create the perfect symphony and perhaps take United from the comfort of top four to title chargers. Sancho may well be the missing piece.
Dortmund Face Most Difficult Struggle for Years
As alluded to before, the revolving door of star players at Borussia Dortmund is nothing new, but, usually, they have a backup for those star players. This time, however, they don’t. They don’t have a direct replacement for the the winger’s quality. Combine that with the fact that Haaland is also set to receive plenty of interest this summer, and the Germans look in serious trouble.
The fact is, with Manchester United making Sancho a primary target this summer and Haaland’s future also uncertain, Dortmund could be left without any significant threat going forward. New manager Marco Rose will have some job on his hands this summer if both players leave.
