Alisson Becker and Fabinho Set to Be Offered New Liverpool Contracts

Liverpool contracts

According to Dominic King of the Daily Mail, Brazilian duo Fabinho and Alisson Becker are set to be offered new Liverpool contracts. The news comes as little surprise with Jurgen Klopp clearly keen to keep hold of his star players after such a torrid season without most of them.

Fabinho, in particular, has been irreplaceable this season and has more than proven his worth. Without him in midfield, Liverpool suffered. With him back alongside Thiago Alcantara, the Reds have been resurged and rampant in their pursuit of top four.

As for Alisson, his fine saves often define him as a player, but it his goal that could be remembered as his most important contribution this season. In the dying embers against West Bromwich Albion, the Liverpool goalkeeper rose highest to nod home the winner at the Hawthorns. If that doesn’t warrant a new Liverpool contract then, what does?

Preparation Key for Next Season

After a nightmare season full of injuries and setbacks, preparation will be the key to any Liverpool success next time around- starting with new contracts for star players. For far too long, the Reds were a selling club. A player would join, become a star, and then leave for silverware.

Times have changed now, however, with Liverpool back in contention for trophies. They have gone from the club star players want to leave to one they want to join. And, now that Klopp has his players, he’ll want to keep them.

It should be a far easier task than in previous years, too, because of the recent success. It seems the contract talks will begin with Alisson and Fabinho this summer, perhaps before more sign on the dotted line.

Liverpool will aim to be back in the title race next season with key players secured for years to come.
