According to reports, forward Willian Jose is an option for Atletico Madrid this month as they seek striking reinforcements. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Brazilian is on the Madrid sides radar as a new target.
Romano also reported that previous target Arkadiusz Milik has no agreement with the club at this current moment in time. The Napoli man is yet to be registered with the Italian club this season and has not featured this season.
The Polishman’s lack of football makes a move as likely as ever, but, according to Romano, not to Atletico Madrid.
Willian Jose an Option for Atletico Madrid
Much-Needed Backup for Luis Suarez
With Luis Suarez approaching 34, Diego Simeone will need to manage his time on the pitch- with injuries a growing possibility.
So far this season, the former Barcelona man has been the star of the show in Madrid- scoring nine times in 12 La Liga games- but cannot be relied upon when the fixtures begin to pile up.
And this is where Willian Jose comes into things. The Real Sociedad forward, reportedly a serious option for the league leaders, could provide Simeone with the perfect option from the bench.
Factor in Diego Costa’s reported imminent departure, too, and the completion of a deal for a forward becomes all the more important.
Atletico Madrid Seeking Title Once More
Across Europe this season, several top sides have failed to replicate the form of old. In England, Manchester City and Liverpool have failed to show the consistency of years gone by- making the Premier League as competitive as ever.
In Italy, AC Milan and Inter Milan have emerged as the title favourites following Juventus’ lack of consistency. And, in Spain, it is Atletico Madrid who are taking advantage of Barcelona and Real Madrid’s slow starts to top La Liga once more.
