Football Transfer Rumours: Chelsea in the Hunt for Jadon Sancho

Jadon Sancho Chelsea

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho is in hot demand. And a move back to the Premier League looks more and more likely for the former Manchester City academy starlet with Chelsea reportedly waiting in the wings.

Blues Target England International

Chelsea are reportedly in hot pursuit of Jadon Sancho, according to the football podcast Que Golazo and Football London. Reports suggest the Kings Road outfit are monitoring the players’ situation with a move on the cards likely in the summer after the European Championship.

Premier League Likely Destination for Jadon Sancho

A return to England looks the player’s best bet. A host of Premier League clubs remain interested in the attacker. Last summer, it seemed Manchester United were the front runners to secure his services.

Yet a transfer fee could not be agreed between Dortmund and The Red Devils. However, they remain an interested party, but are not alone according to reports.

Liverpool are also reportedly an interested spectator in the deal- looking to add further firepower up front, but Chelsea are a strong candidate given both the financial clout of the club in recent times.

Sancho Unable to Find Top Form

This season, the 20-year-old has been struggling for form. It is clear that this transfer speculation has unrested the Dortmund attacker.

In addition, in 11 Bundesliga appearances, he is yet to find the net – with just four assists to his name.

This is a marked difference to last season where he had his best campaign to date. In 32 games, he scored 17 goals with a record 17 assists.

The ‘king of the assist’ was very much the king of the Bundesliga and one of the league’s stars of the season. Remarkably, Sancho managed to score a goal or create an assist every 69.4 minutes.

Therefore, the winger from London will be hoping to return to hit the high notes in 2021, with the Premier League keeping a watchful eye on the Dortmund man.
