REPORT: Dominik Szoboszlai Close to RB Leipzig Move

Szoboszlai Leipzig

Reported Arsenal target Dominik Szoboszlai is closing in on a move to RB Leipzig, according to Max Biekefield of Sky Sports. The news undoubtedly deals Arsenal yet another huge blow as Szoboslai looks set to become the latest Salzburg man to make the switch to Germany. The move would see the Salzburg man make the switch to Germany in a deal worth up to £25 million, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Szobolasi Close to RB Leipzig Move

RB Leipzig a Smart Choice by Szoboszlai

If true, Szoboszlai’s choice to avoid Arsenal has to be praised. The 20-year-old has reportedly, and crucially, instead chosen the more stable Leipzig as his designated club for the near future.

So many players of similar potential to the midfielder have been made to pay for a wrong move. Szoboszlai does not look like making the same mistake, however- seemingly picking Germany over England.

With Leipzig, the midfielder will be guaranteed Champions League football. At Arsenal, who sit mid-table in the Premier League, Europa League football is not even guaranteed next season.

His time in England may come, but, for now, the Salzburg man, if reports are to be believed, has made the right choice.

With 18 goal contributions in 19 games, too, Szoboszlai’ s talent is clear for all to see. Now, it is about developing further, and, following in the footsteps of players such as Erling Haaland who decided to leave Salzburg for Germany last season.

Huge Blow for Arsenal

Despite earlier reports suggesting a move to the Emirates beckoned for the young midfielder, a move to Germany seems imminent- dealing Arsenal yet another blow to contend with.

The Gunners have endured one of their worst seasons to date, sitting 15th after 11 games, and are in desperate need of an attacking threat- something Szoboszlai would have provided.

Now, with the London club set to miss out on their target, the worries of a mid-table finish will continue to increase as the lack of goals continues to be a deciding factor.
