REPORT: Bayern Munich Reignite Interest in Chelsea Winger Callum Hudson-Odoi

Bayern Munich Hudson-Odoi

Bayern Munich have reignited their interest in Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to Sky Sports News.

The Bundesliga club had previously made multiple bids to sign Hudson-Odoi in January 2019 and are now targeting him before the window closes.

However, the 19-year-old England international only signed a new five-year contract at Chelsea last September.

Should Hudson-Odoi Leave Chelsea?

From a players’ perspective, Bayern Munich may be the right move for a player like Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Despite signing a new contract, Chelsea have made up for lost time in the transfer window, signing the likes of Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz to bolster their attacking talent.

Even with the departures of both Pedro and Willian, the 19-year-old may still see his chances limited to substitute appearances. As a result, he may need to move if he wants to be in contention for England.

However, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has shown a lot of faith in youth since taking over, with some thriving when given the chance. This may be what Hudson-Odoi needs to live up to his potential and may wait it out.

However, if he needs proof that playing in Germany could be beneficial for his career growth, all he needs to do is look at Jadon Sancho.

As a result, big decisions lie ahead for the 19-year-old.

Should Bayern Splash the Cash?

Going for a player like Callum Hudson-Odoi is a bold move for the German champions.

When you consider their attacking talent, one must wonder where the Chelsea winger will fit in, especially considering they have just signed Leroy Sane from Manchester City.

However, they clearly see something in him having tried to sign him before, and he could bring a lot to Bayern. Maybe they’ve seen what Sancho and Jude Bellingham have brought to Dortmund and are looking to replicate that.

In any case, it’s a move that benefits all parties, especially Hudson Odoi. It’s just whether they can convince Chelsea to sell.
