Barcelona Plans to Rebuild

The sources have clearly suggested plans to rebuild the squad alongside a forecast of what the transfer market will be like after the crisis. FC Barcelona have been looking onwards strategically to be able to build on their plans further and come prepared into the market.

The Financial Forecast

Money is set to be scarce, is what president Josep Bartomeu of FC Barcelona has predicted. He was quoted by ESPN, saying: “There is not going to be as much money in the transfer market because of the pandemic.” Therefore there will be fewer deals involving money. His statement was backed up by another quote of his where he said: “But I predict that we are going to see a lot more swap deals.”

The Incoming Transfers: Done Deals, Attacking Reinforcements and Rebuilding in Defence

The Catalan club have already added to their future players in Francisco Trincao, the SC Braga forward who had been a constant attacking threat to whoever the Portuguese outfit faced in the Europa League. Winger Pedro Gonzalo Lopez, more commonly known as “Pedri”, also looks set to leave Gran Canaria team Las Palmas to join the big boys.

Their quest to find another spearhead attacker to replace Luis Suarez. Lautaro Martinez and Neymar are definitely still both on their hitlist. Will swap deals be enough to bring one of them to the Camp Nou?

Plans for a long-term replacement for club stalwart Gerard Pique has been sought after for a while now. Another right-back is also on Barcelona’s wishlist to be able to strengthen in that area.

The Outgoing Transfers

The players that have the possibility to be heading out the door include every player but three. Lionel Messi, Frenkie De Jong and goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen are the only three players safe from the negotiations that are set to undergo this summer.

Every other player is set to be a possible makeweight for deals to be made in order to repair FC Barcelona’s team for the new season. The desired deals for Matinez or Neymar will be a big factor in which players could be leaving.

PSG have expressed their need of more French players in the lineup meaning players like Clement Lenglet, Antoine Greizmann, Samuel Umtiti, Jean-Clair Todibo, and Ousmane Dembele are all seemingly great candidates for such an agreement.

Inter Milan have expressed their interest in the talented Barcelona playmaking crew- with Ivan Rakitic, Carles Alena, and Rafinha all being in the limelight of Inters’ shopping window. These players could be used to tempt a swap for Lautaro Martinez.
